Black and White Chest of Drawers

Here we have a chest of drawers from the “Black and White” collection.

The solid oak chest of drawers / linen cabinet / sideboard was stripped back to its bare bones, and refinished in a satin black paint.
The fronts of the drawers were revamped using black and white vintage and modern pre-loved leather belts. The combination of the two colours are giving the unit a crisp finish with a strong visual impact. Some buckles were incorporated in the design as I’m a great believer in giving things another lease of life but carrying the legacy of their previous one. The fronts are finished with black metal tacks. For a strong contrast, oversized polka dots wallpaper was used to line the drawers and the back of the unit. So, this gorgeous piece can be also placed in the middle of the room or as a divider as the back is just as pretty. Simple elegant legs and subtle detailing, resting on it’s original castors.

Versatile unit which will fit within a modern design scheme but also in a more traditional or rustic decor.

With elements of retro, vintage, Gothic, even a touch of steampunk, it will make a striking focal point in any room.

I am trying to use reusable materials whenever I can as you can’t duplicate the patina and the look of used. Especially when it comes to these gorgeous belts.

Each item that I use for my projects is used, so it will have signs of wear in places,but nothing to detract from the overall desired finish.

All the items of furniture are treated for woodworms regardless as a prophylactic measure.
